EU Energy Policy and Energy Security of Central Europe

The 14th CEEC conference in 2020 is a special conference for a number of reasons. Above all, it is being held in the midst of an unprecedented economic crisis triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic at the same time as the EU is making great efforts to implement its ambitious European Green Deal. The EU’s Recovery Plan for Europe is being targeted at the economic crisis in member states and at supporting their economies via a special assistance mechanism that includes the Next Generation EU fund. The fund could provide additional assistance to member states over and above the existing EU budget for investments in the economic recovery in line with the European Green Deal targets. The main aim of the 14th CEEC conference is to discuss the priorities of the Slovak Recovery Plan in relation to the utilisation of these funds, and to compare them with the priorities of the other V4 countries. The conference will explore key energy transition themes that are also important for re-starting the V4 economies and fulfilling the aims of the European Green Deal.
